Our Foundation was created on 22 November 2005. It abides to the principles and juridical statutes set out for the 'Participatory Foundation' (Fondazione di Partecipazione), a sub-branch of the broader category of foundations regulated by the Italian civil code.
The Foundation's registered office is in Varese (address: 1 Piazza Libertà), while the head office is at Vizzola Ticino, at N. 4 along the Strada Provinciale 52.
The Foundation has identified three objectives towards the creation of a museum complex dedicated to aeronautics and its history:
- the conservation, promotion and valorisation of objects of artistic and historical interest, particularly aircrafts, equipment, documentation and other material pertaining to aeronautics
- the promotion of a local economic development model highlighting the history, culture and industrial tradition of the province of Varese
- the promotion and creation and cultural and conservation activities; the organization of permanent and temporary exhibitions; the establishment of archives and libraries; and the setting up of laboratories for restoration works dedicated, among other things, to promoting the region's rich tradition of aeronautics
